Yes — this is one of the most common things we hear, and it's exactly why we built coaching into everything we do. Most "black thumb" gardens aren't a lack of skill; they're usually a timing or setup issue (wrong plant, wrong season, wrong sun exposure). We help you understand what your space actually needs so you can grow with confidence instead of guessing.

What happens after my garden is installed — do I figure it out on my own?

Not at all. Every design and install includes month-to-month coaching, so you have a trusted partner close by as your garden grows — whether you're wondering what to plant next, when to fertilize or prune, how to ID a pest, or how to stay 100% organic. Sessions run one hour, in person or via video call.

Can my entire family join in?

Absolutely! We love teaching all family members about soil, seasonal vegetables and herbs, and the role pollinators play in a healthy garden. We're happy to plan group planting days so everyone can get their hands dirty together.

Is it ever too late to start planting vegetables?

Accepted Answer

In Southern California, we're lucky to garden nearly year-round. With no real frost or extreme heat, we really only have two seasons — cool and warm — and there's almost always something you can plant. Coaching helps you know exactly what to grow, and when, for your specific spot.

What if I only have a small patio?

Accepted Answer

If your patio has room for pots or a small raised bed, with 3+ hours of sunlight, you can grow plenty of herbs, lettuces, and flowers — no need for a big yard to enjoy fresh food and garden ambiance right outside your door.

I already have a garden — can you just help me with what I've got?

Yes! That's what our garden coaching is for. If you've already planted or have an existing setup, we'll walk your garden together to see how it's growing and build a coaching plan around what it needs next — no full redesign required.
